The artist went to his first art school in 1979, with tendency towards painting. Advice from a teacher ?guided? him into the world of sculpting. Between 1983 and 1986 he got a scholarship to work with Vasco Prado (1914-1998) a very well know artist in Brazil. He improved and developed himself as a real sculptor. During this period Cae Braga learned from Vasco Prado some of the most precious and valuables teachings about sculptures. Cae Bragas? horse fascination came from his childhood. He always was amazed by horse pictures, toys and TV programs. He learned to draw early with his mother, by the time he was a teenager he started to paint and by adulthood, he was making models.Nowadays, aside from art, he trains horses and practices some horse sports. For him horses are the symbol of liberty, power, beauty and elegance. Most of Cae Bragas? sculptures are made from materials such as bronze, clay, terracotta, iron and wood in different horses? postures and dimensions. Today Cae Braga is a well know artist in southern Brazil. For him ?sculpture is light? and ?the most important thing is to focus on the whole work and not only on the details - this is art?. |
